What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of text that websites store in your browser, and related technologies include things like local storage, which works the same way but can hold a bit more information. Sites use them to remember who you are, keep you signed in, save preferences, or measure how pages perform. We think you should know exactly what is stored and why — especially because this site uses very little of it.
The kinds of cookies
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function at all, such as remembering your cookie consent choice so the banner does not reappear on every page.
- Functional. Remember preferences like language or layout choices. We do not currently use functional cookies beyond the consent preference described below.
- Analytics. Measure how visitors use a site so it can be improved. Any analytics we rely on are limited to aggregate information and do not identify individual visitors.
What this site actually uses
We keep things deliberately minimal. The table below lists the storage used by this website and the third-party services embedded in it:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookieConsent | Local storage (set by this site) | Records whether you accepted or declined cookies, so the banner stays hidden once you have chosen. | Until you clear it |
| Google Fonts | Third-party resource | Loads the Fraunces and Karla fonts used in our design. Font files are requested by your browser from Google's servers. | Session |
| Google Maps embed | Third-party embed (contact page) | Displays a map to our Bountiful location. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads, governed by Google's own policies. | Varies (set by Google) |
The consent banner
The first time you visit, a banner at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept or decline cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name cookieConsent — it stays on your device and is not sent to us. If you decline, the banner simply goes away and we make no effort to track you further.
Withdrawing or changing consent
You can change your mind at any time. To make the banner reappear and choose again, clear this site's local storage or site data in your browser settings (usually found under privacy or site settings), then refresh the page. You can also block or delete cookies entirely through your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally either way, since nothing essential depends on them.
Changes and contact
If we change how this site uses cookies or similar technology, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Questions can be sent to info@texmexccompany.us or by mail to Tex-Mex C Company, 420 S 425 W, Bountiful, UT 84010.
